My Maxi D-Nelson.
This is a maxi version of the model that I designed as the anniversary kit of the
last Pearl River Model Rocket convention (Pearl River, NY). It is named after Dick
Nelson, founder/host of Pearl River. Powered
with a single 24mm (D12 in this case) motor. |
 |
Perfect flight on a
D12-3 |
 |
Nice launch of a
duration style model |
 |
Not sure whose rocket
this is, but it was most interesting and produce a fantastic flight! |
 |
My Corona model lifts
off. This is the model that I designed as the anniversary kit for the New England
Model ROcketry Convention (NEMROC), founded by myself and Arni Paye (of the Goddard
Society) and co-hosted by the Goddard Society and CMASS. I also donated one of the original Corona kits for the raffle drawing for the
day. |
 |
This is a nice shot of
the whole range area, showing the large number of folks attending and I happened to
capture a launch also! |
 |
This is a 2-staged
version of my Corona model. I was VERY please with how well this flew! |
 |
Here she is leaving
the pad. Stage separation about 100 feet up and a perfect flight, launch to landing! |
 |
Not sure whose model
this is, but it graced the range as a display model and is beautiful! |
 |
My mini-starlight
ready for launch |
 |
Great launch shot
showing good fire. Owner unknown |
 |
I thought this shot
was great! don't know whose model it is, but i caught it! i don't think I had even one
single pixel available left in this shot. That rocket is RIGHT at the top! |
 |
My Mini-Grissom.
A beautiful model based, loosely, on the original Estes Trident. Many design
differences making this a different model, but still cuts a beautiful line. |
 |
And she flys great on
A10-3T motors. Flawless flight and recovery! |
 |
My Mini-Orbital
Transport (a replica of the full size model based on the BT-5 body tube). I missed
getting the launch of this model, but she turned in a great flight, including a nice
smooth return of the glider |
 |
My Tumble Weed model
(like a scaled down Sprite), flying on mini-motors. |
 |
Great flight, nice
tumble recovery. |
 |
This one was a hoot.
It's a real rocket used in military training (the Smokey Sam) to simulate rocket
bombardment. This is a spent unit. I modified for model rocket flight using a
D12-3 motor. I had a nozzle blowout, causing the thing to sit on the pad billowing
smoke... |
 |
... until the last
instant when it popped off the pad, layed on the ground and uncerimoniously deposited its
chute... |

My mini-sputnik made
